The future of our region is dependent on maintaining a balance between the community’s use of land and water resources and the natural environment. This is the core interest of Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority (CMA).

Our objectives and mission include fostering partnerships with the community to develop and implement projects that work towards healthy and sustainable relationships between the natural environment and the community’s use of land and water resources.

Community education and awareness are high on our agenda. We partner with the regional community, local, state and federal governments and Landcare to achieve a healthy and sustainable region to maximise the well being of current and future generations.

Specifically the Glenelg Hopkins CMA is responsible for:

  • Implementation of a Regional Catchment Strategy
  • Monitoring and reporting on the health of the catchment, particularly the condition and management of water resources
  • Reporting on outcomes to both the community and Government.
